Committed as we are to maintaining high levels of service, we understand that you may have anxiety about health and treatment at this time, and want to offer our patients reassurance about our services. We have summarised below Frequently Asked Questions which patients and referring healthcare professionals may have.

We can confirm that all our health centres remain open and are providing remote GP and Physio services, consultant led clinics where clinically appropriate, imaging for urgent patients, and specialist diagnostic services.

Advice on face coverings

In line with NHS England guidance, we kindly ask that all patients visiting our centres wear a face covering at all times. This is for your safety and the safety of other patients and staff as face coverings can act as a barrier to prevent the spread of coronavirus from the wearer to others.

Face coverings can be purchased commercially, be cloth and/or handmade. Advice on how to wear a face mask can be found on the government website, along with how to make one.

We understand that not all patients will be able to wear a face covering, such as young children or those with breathing difficulties.

What can I expect when I visit a centre?

The health and safety of our patients and centre staff remain our absolute priority.

In line with Government advice, all centres are following stringent levels of hygiene and screening of all patients visiting our centres. All members of our healthcare team who you come into contact with will wear PPE including gloves, aprons, and surgical masks. In line with the latest NHS England guidelines for clinical settings, you will see that our reception team are also wearing surgical masks.

We have introduced temperature screening for all visitors and team members. Anyone displaying an above normal temperature will be asked to immediately self-isolate at home and contact 111 for further advice.

On arrival and throughout your visit, we would like to remind patients to wear a face covering, regularly wash their hands and use the antibacterial hand gel located at multiple positions throughout our centres. We also encourage patients to practice social distancing, where possible, for example in our waiting rooms.

We have extended the time between appointments to minimise the number of patients waiting in reception areas and to allow our staff to thoroughly clean equipment and rooms.

Where can I park in central London?

In order to further reduce the risk of infection for our London-based patients, we are pleased to announce that from 1 June, people attending for a scan at our centre near Harley Street will be able to take advantage of a complimentary two-hour parking service.

Our guests will be able to drive to a car park located just a short walk away at Queen Anne Mews where members of our team will meet and greet you and will walk you to the centre.

To take advantage of this parking service, please just speak to a member of our team when booking your appointment.

We are committed to making your visit to our centres as easy and relaxing as possible, so if your appointment is prior to 1 June, please contact our team and we will do all we can to assist.

Is my appointment still going ahead?

Unless you have been contacted directly by our Appointments team, all our services remain open and your appointment will be going ahead.

If you are able to postpone your appointment, please call our centre and we will reschedule at the earliest convenient time for you.

I am booked for an MRI scan, will this go ahead?

We continue to offer diagnostic imaging, including MRI scans, x-ray and ultrasound across all our centres.

For patients over the age of 70 or those with underlying health conditions, we recommend rebooking non-urgent diagnostic imaging appointments in support of the Governments’ guidelines for potentially vulnerable people.

Can I see a GP during this time?

Across our network of centres, we understand the last thing we want is for you to feel you can’t access a GP when you need one.

We continue to offer fast and easy access to a Private GP service at our centres in Weybridge and Stockport and can also offer remote GP services to patients anywhere in the country. Our GP appointments are with doctors who have extensive experience in general practice, as well as specialist knowledge in certain areas.

Available at convenient times through the week, our GP appointments are typically 30mins in duration and are simple to book. All appointments will be screened at the time of booking and for those un-able to attend the centre, we can offer appointments with our GPs via telephone or online.

If your appointment is an initial consultation or relates to a number of conditions your appointment will be longer. Please note that the charges associated with a private GP or Physio are dependent upon the length of consultation.

Having a private GP appointment should not affect the care you receive from your regular NHS GP.

Can I see a physiotherapist?

At this time our physio team are offering remote support via telephone and online and are supported by a range of tools to help you in your rehabilitation from injury at home.

If you are managing an on-going injury and or have recently experienced a new injury, you can book an appointment with one of our specialist and highly experienced physiotherapists and we can offer appointments via telephone or online.

How can I remain fit and healthy at home?

We have a number of services available to our patients which can help you remain fit and healthy whilst staying at home.

  • For those wanting to remain active our highly experienced Personal Trainers are able to provide training plans and advice tailored to your needs.
  • Our nutritional experts are on hand to share their knowledge.
  • If you are experiencing heightened anxiety during this time, we have Counsellors available who can talk you through your concerns and worries.

How is Medical Imaging Partnership supporting the NHS?

Our company is taking an active part in the Independent Sectors response to support the NHS and are part of regular briefings and forums with both NHS England and Public Health England.

As of 5 April 2020, we are proud to confirm that our teams in Sussex are delivering diagnostic imaging at two hospitals in support of A&E/trauma patients; and we are also providing diagnostic imaging to urgent MSK and cancer patients in the area.
